POKOTABI / Ipsen
いぷせん
Start the day with coffee, sandwiches, a hot dog or the daily special. At lunchtime, Ipsen also serves omurice and a daily lunch menu.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
At Ipsen, one memorable way to start the morning is with a sandwich and coffee. A diner who visited for breakfast several times enjoyed a sandwich filled with bacon and egg and lettuce, with mustard mayonnaise and strawberry jam. The combination was unexpected, but the diner found that the flavours worked well together. They also liked the iced coffee, making it easy to see the appeal of stopping in for a morning cup and a light meal.
Morning choices include a sandwich or hot dog, each served with salad for ¥460, and ham-and-egg toast with salad and yoghurt for ¥510. The daily special, served with salad and yoghurt, costs ¥550. Its contents change each day, offering a different plate to choose from in the morning.
Omurice is another option at lunchtime. A frequent lunch guest particularly recommends it and writes that the daily specials have included pork and egg simmered together, chicken katsu simmered with egg, and tonkatsu. The menu also features hayashi-style omurice, curry doria and Napolitan spaghetti, with choices ranging from café-style snacks to more substantial meals.
Alongside breakfast and lunch, the café serves coffee and desserts, and is suitable for dining alone.
